Katrina and other news...
I found this post somewhere and I was quite disturbed: www.hellridemusic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7888. I have posted over there as st1gma, in case you're wondering.

What has happened with Hurricane Katrina is a true tragedy. A beautiful city - destroyed. Thousands of people dead, and even more left starving and sickly.

No one came to them...But George Bush was having himself a nice vacation when Katrina struck...CUNT!!!

When the Tsunami devastated much of Asia...we were there in a flash, rescue attempts being made almost immediately. We sent food, money, and any kind of relief we could. Here we are over a week later and people have just been evacuated...and we are now getting together food and necessities to send down to our own people.

Where is every country we ever assisted and are continuing to assist? Where are all these assholes we have sent our tax money to...neglecting our own. We live in a world where there are two options: dog eat dog, or one hand washes the other...I think it's time for this doggy to do some eating and start focusing on taking care of our own.

I am aware that some countries sent aid...such as Saudi Arabia. ::jaw drops:: This is all kind and good, but it sure as hell took a long time.

It's time to close our borders to the influx of immigrants and stop sending aid to other countries...unless they absolutely need it. Yes, America was founded and set up to be a melting pot, but these goddamn people need to appreciate the country they live in. I drive around and see a plethora of flags hanging outside of homes and businesses. It is quite disrespectful to fly the flag of another country without the good ol' US flag next to it. It's good to be proud of where you came from, but also be proud of where you are.

This cannot be said for all who immigrate to this country, for some are very proud to now be an American. But there a great many that do nothing but help in the destruction of what was once...and still could be...a fine country.

In other news...

Chief Justice William Rehnquist is now dead. Not that this was not expected, but his death effectively puts George Bush completely in charge of the Supreme Court. He will now, in all likelihood, get everything he wants.

When was the last time you filled your tank up with gas? Gotta love this price gouging! Many stations have gone out of business, at least temporarily. Who is making money off of this? George W.'s daddy waddy and his other oil tycoon buddies. Have fun paying the cunts! And all Bush has to say is: "Don't drive unless you have to"...heh...wish we had that luxury, CUNT!

In closing, it can be said:

George W. Bush is a cunt!
People have no appreciation for this country.
George W. Bush is a cunt!
When you help other countries...many will, in fact, bite the hand that has fed them.
George W. Bush is a cunt!
Your enemies...such as Saudi Arabia...will surprise you in good ways occasionally.
George W. Bush is a cunt!
Some asshole on a bulletin board is living proof that most people are CUNTS!
George W. Bush is a cunt!

At least the victims of Katrina are now getting the aid they desperately needed. FINALLY!!!

Liquid Betrayal (vox/guitar/bass) needs some more members…three doesn’t seem to cut it.

Looking for team oriented musicians who are open-minded, mostly mature, mostly responsible, enjoy humor, and are ready to destroy the planet in the form of music…while keeping it melodic. First timers okay. We’d prefer band members to be at least 21 (for gigging purposes) -- but if you’re twelve, can play like nobody’s business, and mommy will let you out past curfew on gig nights…drop a line anyway.

The following shoes need to be worn: Drums, keys, lead guitar

Liquid Betrayal Current Influences (among many):
Pantera, Life of Agony, Fear Factory, Type O Negative, Cruxshadows, Bella Morte, Pig, Motorhead, Dimmu Borgir, Soulfly, Moonspell

Looking to play in the vein of metal, goth, experimental, industrial...leaning mostly toward metal.

Drop an email over to: liquid.betrayal@gmail.com

Local Music
The other night, while All That Remains was playing I had an epiphany...

It's so hard to get people to go out to shows and support local bands. I don't think I'll ever understand this. Sure...I get it...they're not famous...but they could be...

Overall, look at some of our locals:
Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, All That Remains, Staind, Godsmack, Unearth, Rob Zombie/White Zombie/Scum of the Earth...

Now consider how much you pay to see them or get their CD after they are "famous" and "popular"...you lost out...ya could have seen them for $5 and gotten their CD for about the same, if not free. Wouldn't it be cool to have a raw demo from a famous band? You could have...if you went to their shows before they were "cool". Hell...you could even be their friend...and get free shit & shows when they become "famous". You would even have a bunch of bragging rights.

In case you didn't notice, crowd reception has a lot to do with bands becoming famous...wouldn't it be spiffy to, in a way, to choose who the next superstars are?

So, really...in the long run...I don't understand why you people refuse to get off of your asses to support the scene. It's beneficial to all parties.

There is a lot of *really* good music out there that is begging for you to listen...why ignore it? Why deprive yourself?

These guys work hard and put out some great stuff just to be ignored by you fucking people who are far too caught up in what's cool & trendy...and on the radio.

Back From The Show...
I'm back from the Chimaira, Six Feet Under, All That Remains, & 3 Inches Of Blood show...

My Review:

3 Inches Of Blood...
I am not a big fan of this band. They are a pack of very talented musicians and I have a lot of respect for them, but they just don't do it for me. I can't accurately review this band because I suppose I am a little biased. But, the sound was good and they played their asses off.

All That Remains...
I heart my locals! It's always great to hear that Boston accent amongst a pack of national acts. Great energy during this set.

Six Feet Under...
I have never seen them live before. I have always thought Chris Barnes' vocals were splendifferous, but live...he kicked my ass. I definitely enjoyed this set and it brought me a step closer to being a Six Feet Under "fan". High creativity, great effects, but the energy left a bit to be wanted.

This is the primary band I went for. They must have spent a boatload on lights, but it was well worth it. I didn't stay for the whole set because I was sober and there were a lot of irksome things going on. We left as they were starting to play something off of their new album. I was gunning to hear a bunch of stuff from The Impossibility of Reason, but as with all bands who have just put out a new CD, they were gonna play the new stuff. I like to sit with a CD for a while before I hear the songs live...I'm weird. Either way, what I saw for their set was good. The vox was too low for my liking and it was almost as if the sound guy got really drunk or lost some IQ points while the band was doing sound check. I am not sure if Chimaira has their own sound or not, but if they do...they should hire the guy that works with Six Feet Under.

This is my completely pathetic review for this morning...you now know why I don't work for [INSERT METAL MAG HERE].

An intro...
Here's to the Phantom of the Opera who is to thank for the lovely quote to the left. I wanted to use the Angel of Music layout, but it just didn't happen for me. Someday I'll try to make my own layout, but it's just not something I'm focused on.

I have blogs everywhere...LJ, MySpace, Blogger, Xanga, and some others I have momentarily forgotten. All of them are primarily for promotional purposes. My MySpace is my primary blog and what I spend the most time on. This may change in the future...who knows. This is like my 5361284734691428347340th LiveJournal account...yippee!!! I like this name better than the rest...woo hoo hoo.
